Founded by Leslie McKenna, Chefs, Inc. is a beautiful, state-of-the-art culinary studio with eight fully equipped kitchen workstations.
Chef Leslie's philosophy is that cooking should be fun, creative, and exciting. Her emphasis is on providing quality instruction with an understanding staff and small classes. This ensures that all students get personal, hands-on experience in a spacious work environment.
We welcome everyone, regardless of skill level or experience, to come in, take a class and enjoy the rewards of fine cooking.
About Chef Leslie McKenna
Chef Leslie McKenna graduated from Johnson and Wales University in 1985 where she received her degree in Culinary Arts. After graduating, she moved to New York City to work at Maxwell's Plum Restaurant with Mark Peel and Nancy Silverton from Campanile Restaurant. From there she went on to be the Sous Chef at Jake's Manhattan Restaurant.
In 1988, Chef McKenna moved to Los Angeles where she started working at Primi Restaurant for Piero Selvaggio, was promoted to Executive Pastry Chef at Valentino's Restaurant in Santa Monica, where she was published in Bon Appetit, and Food and Wine magazines. After leaving Valentino's, Chef McKenna pursued work as a private chef, cooking for celebrities, dignitaries and several U.S. Presidents. Along with her private chef work, Chef McKenna continued to expand her private catering business. Chef McKenna has catered small dinner parties with 10 people all the way up to movie premieres with over 2000 people.
Chef McKenna has taught for many years at various cooking schools in Los Angeles including Epicurean Cooking School, Bristol Farms, and the Village Kitchen Shoppe.
In addition to designing a professional chef program, Chef McKenna will be one of the primary instructors at Chefs, Inc.
