Lets Get Cookin
Seasons greetings! The holidays and winter are here once again although it seems like we just took the Christmas lights down a few weeks ago. It is time to plan great dinner parties, bake all of our favorite pies, cookies and make some yummy chocolate confections.
We have lots of classes to help inspire you along the way. We have a Dessert class with Sherry Yard from Spago who has authored a new book entitled Desserts By the Yard, 2 Chocolate Artistry classes with Elaine Gonzalez, and a 2 day Cookie Making and Decorating class with Mary Bergin later in February. Nancie Mc Dermott, author of Southern Cakes will tempt you with Decadent Southern Desserts. And if it’s bread you want to bake, Peter Reinhart, has just released his new book Whole Grain Breads and will lead two classes on bread baking at the end of February.
Susan Spicer from Bayona and Herbsaint in New Orleans will teach a class in November from her new cookbook, Crescent City Cooking. The proceeds from this class will be donated to the restoration of the Crescent City Farmer’s Market which has suffered since Hurricane Katrina. Crescent Dragonwagon, a wonderful writer and teacher will do a vegetarian class featuring recipes from her new book, The Cornbread Gospels as well as from her award winning The Passionate Vegetarian.
Judy Kancigor will teach a Hanukkah class from her new book, Cooking Jewish and cheese expert Laura Werlin will be on hand to help us discover much more about cheeses with her new book, Laura Werlin’s Cheese Essentials. Ann Byrn of The Cake Doctor fame will be here in January to do a Potluck Menu just perfect for Super Bowl Sunday and both Nancy Silverton and John Ash will return to teach previously scheduled classes.
