Orange Tree Cooking School
Orange Tree Imports is a specialty shop featuring an incredible combination of kitchenware, toys, cutlery, candy, gifts, specialty foods, cards, soaps, glassware and more. We've been at our current location of 1721 Monroe Street in Madison, Wisconsin for over 30 years. We are proud to be a part of the Monroe Street neighborhood, with its eclectic mix of small stores and restaurants.
Our shop, which is just two blocks from the University of Wisconsin football stadium, is recognizable for its short building with an unusual leaded glass bay window (built by a homesick Englishman in the 1910's) and for its tall building, a town hall over 100 years old that was moved to Monroe Street from around the corner many years ago. This tall building was home to Cabrini Gifts, which we purchased in 1986 and connected with Orange Tree Imports.
One of the things that makes Orange Tree Imports unique is the fact that each of our staff members (30 in all) has a section of the store that he or she is in charge of, and is involved in hiring decisions and other aspects of store management.
We also share the job of designing window displays for our four front windows, and are proud to mention that we were voted one the of winners for Best Window Displays in the Isthmus Annual Manual. Other awards we've been honored with include Madison's Best Specialty Shop (Madison Magazine), Wisconsin's Favorite Specialty Shop (Wisconsin Trails), Best in Business (In Business Magazine), and Millennium Retailer (Gifts and Decorative Accessories).
We are known for many different types of merchandise, ranging from the gourmet cookware, foods and kitchen gadgets that are Dean's specialty, to the Christmas collectibles, jewelry and toys that are in Orange's areas. We know we can't possibly convey the full array of our selection to you on this web site, since we've decided to concentrate on putting merchandise on the shelves rather than on the Web.
