Raquel Seacord, founder of Swan Cove, has trained as an Alternative Health Practitioner in various settings. As a Californian, Raquel found her inspiration in the sunshine and healthy lifestyle of her native state. In 1976 she moved to New York City where she lived for 19 years. In 1994, she moved to New Haven, CT with her husband, Warren, an architectural designer and landscape architect, settled into a 1890’s Queen Anne house by the sea, started Swan Cove B&B, where she now lives.
Raquel has studied food and health for the past twenty-five years. She assisted Laura Stein, in Manhattan for 3 years, in "Effective Appetite Training" workshops, known as the 'Bloomingdales Eat Healthy Diet'; Studied “One Brain” Kinesiology for Nutritional Analysis for 2 years in Greenlane, PA; Attended Whole Food & Healing at Annemarie Colbin's school, 'The Natural Gourmet Institute for Food and Health' in Manhattan; Attended Cooking courses at I.C.E., Institute of Culinary Education, in NYC.
