The Savvy Gourmet
Classes for every interest and skill level...
If we can cook it and you can eat it, then there's a class or event for it at The Savvy Gourmet. Our calendar of events offers a buffet of fun, delicious and enriching activities, ranging from our social food-and-wine pairings to a knife skills class (though, for safety's sake, never the twain shall meet), featuring both specialized areas of interest, like our Demi Glace Workshop, or more wide-ranging themes, like our always-popular Dinner Parties Pronto classes.
Demonstration:
An opportunity for groups of 15-50 to be entertained and educated by chefs from some of New Orleans’ premier restaurants. Demos include written recipes to take home, generous tastings of the chef’s creations, overhead view of the action through our video system, as well as complimentary beverages to enjoy during the class.
Saavy Session:
Up to 12 students sit within arm’s reach of our chefs/instructors around our custom-designed kitchen island. Although participation is often encouraged, you are also free to sit back, relax and sip while you learn.
Hands-On/Workshop:
Focused on specific content areas and limited to just 10 people, these intensive classes provide plenty of close supervision from, and interaction with, our chefs/instructors.
Special Events:
Look for book signings, tastings, lectures and more in addition to our regularly scheduled classes.
Private Classes & Groups:
Want to throw a dinner party your friends will never forget? Like the idea of having a professional chef over to cook for you and your friends in your own kitchen? The Savvy Gourmet will work with you to design a menu, pair the wine, and teach your guests how to prepare a great meal in the comfort of your home.
