I loved the class! The instructor was very knowledgeable and the food was delicious. The only thing that would make it better would be a more spacious location with tables, etc.

Additional comments and observations

Complexity of the information provided: There is so much to learn about wine that a lot of information is crammed into 2 1/2 hours. It is facsinating.

Would you come back: The class was amazing and interesting! I wasn't expecting a 5 course meal nor was I expecting to see Chef Jean Pierre - what a bonus! The class was very informal, everyone was great and it was a good time.

Would you come back: This was my first time and I knew it would be nice but I did not expect it to be so relaxing and great. The wines were wonderful and food was exceptional. It was also nice that the Chef and the other associates came out and joined the group. It made it feel like a social gathering.

My husband gave me the gift certicates for christmas and said he would come with me to any class I chose, we chose the wine class because in the past few years we have developed a real interest in different wines and the tasting of these wines. It was so informative and really entertaining to learn a little something about wine in a casual and fun environment! Thank you for a great evening out. it was definitly worth the drive from Stuart!
Additional comments and observations

The Instructor (Chef) was?: Eric presented an enjoyable and fun way to look at different wines in a very unpretentious sort of way!

The atmosphere was: Eric was really fun to be around and we enjoyed his commentary very much!

Complexity of the information provided: We did not view the cooking process, but everything we sampled was so delictable especially the mushroom risotto!

The Food (or Wine for a Wine) Class: As perviously stated the food was a real treat to the palate!

The Skills that you learn were: We are now more aware of the tastes and smells in the wine and it is a fun thing to just sit and enjoy with your honey and talk about the wines we have chosen.

Would you come back: We really had a nice evening out together, we are sort of homebodies these days because my husband travels quite a bit so when he comes home we mostly enjoy cooking different things and enjoying our wine and food at home so it was wonderful to be out in such a relaxed and happy atmosphere!

Eric's knowledge of wine is clearly tops, yet he was able to simplify wine explanations so we all felt comfortable learning and leave having gained solid understanding of wine basics.

If you have ever stood in the aisle at your local wine store and wondered just what the heck the difference really is between a reisling and chardonnay, is there truly a difference in a $5 and $50 bottle of wine, and just what do you serve with spicy shrimp, then this is the class for you. Eric Hemer, the instructor for this class, possesses three skills that are guaranteed to make it a rewarding experience for the student: one, he has an encyclopedic knowledge of wine and the wine industry and can answer any question lobbed at him (including what time of year yields the best bargains for travel in Napa); two, he is passionate and enthusiastic about his subject and so able to make the subject fun and not intimidating; and three, he is an excellent teacher able to explain the subject in a clear, straightforward manner without using jargon. After a brief introduction detailing the history of the vine and where different wines are produced, he passed out the two 'cheat sheets' that outlined the major types of white and red wine. With a short explanation completed, we then immediately were able to practice what we learned in a blind taste test. Pairing 'book learning' or in this case, lecture, with blind tasting was a brilliant idea. Oh man, the wines were good, the hors d'oeuvres being brought out from the kitchen were delicious, and we really could taste the difference between a reisling and a chardonnay! Talk about a confidence boost! Armed with a little knowledge and our trusty cheat sheet in our pockets, we'll feel much more comfortable about buying wine in the future. The best part...we'll be able to appreciate what we're drinking more, too.
Additional comments and observations

The Food (or Wine for a Wine) Class: The hors d'œuvres and appetizers were so yummy!

The Skills that you learn were: The 'cheat sheet' Eric passed out in class will get pulled out again and again as we taste new wines, and further educate our palates.
