A service that will help students learn how to cook using techniques and approaches specifically designed for their home kitchen.
Jeff Seligman, a veteran New York City chef who works as an off-premise chef with some of New York’s leading caterers, including Abigail Kirsch, Olivier Cheng Catering and Union Square Events, is offering in-home instruction to help home cooks understand how to best utilize their kitchen for preparation of three course meals - and still have time to mingle with family and friends.
“It’s difficult for many home cooks to execute the meal that they want in their home kitchen because they don’t really know how to maximize what they have in terms of space or equipment,” says Chef Seligman. “This results in home cooks being frazzled by the time they serve their meal. My in-home instruction is designed especially to help home cooks become the master of their own kitchen.”
Cooking classes have skyrocketed in popularity as people look to satisfy their love for fine food in a more affordable and comfortable setting - by cooking in their home. But there is usually a wide disparity between the professional kitchen used in most classes and what home cooks have to use at home
Chef Seligman customizes courses for each student and in conjunction with them can develop a themed menu for breakfast, brunch, lunch, a cocktail party, dinner or dessert or even a holiday meal. He also offers culinary outings to students, taking them on shopping expeditions to New York City food meccas such as Arthur Avenue in the Bronx for authentic Italian specialty ingredients.
