Introducing a NEW recurring series of events in the RP Culinary Center on the last Friday of each month. 

At these events we will create a gourmet meal of 4-5 dishes from a DELICIOUS DESTINATION around the country and world.  Our focus will be on the region through the food they eat and enjoy. 

Cuisine Niçoise is the style of cooking found in Nice, France and in the countryside around it.  It comes from humble origins, with most of the recipes having been inherited from grandmothers who prepared farmhouse cuisine from produce grown in their kitchen gardens using recipes that were handed down for generations – and often served to three of them sitting at the kitchen table for Sunday dinner.

Many of those grandmothers were either Italian or French influenced by Italian cuisine, because the entire area along the coast from Cannes towards Monaco had been part of Italy until 1860, when it was ceded to France. So the cuisines of those two countries are entwined and intermingled in the most ideal culinary match of Italian and French traditions. The resulting cuisine Niçoise springs from that marriage – with a strong dash of its own unique dishes not found anywhere else in France.

To start, he will prepare a cold heirloom tomato gazpacho. This smooth version of the more traditional chunky gazpacho is an easy and refreshing start to any meal!  

Next is a spice crusted chicken thigh that is grilled on the Big Green Egg and served over a celery root slaw and fingerling potatoes dressed with chimichurri.

To finish on a sweet note, Chef Devin is showing you how to make one of his favorite cakes, pistachio financiers. These individual buttery cakes will be topped with fresh stone fruits, raspberry coulis, and whipped cream.

If you have never made or eaten fresh pasta, you are in for quite a treat. Making it can be a group event and really fun. Fresh pasta is delicate and has a richer texture than dry packaged pasta. You will learn to make the basic dough and use a pasta machine to work and shape it.

Students are taught how to properly use REAL kitchen tools, knives, and appliances safely under adult supervision. Our students come away with the confidence to prepare dishes that are age appropriate and tasty.  Our goal is to encourage your child to be a help in the kitchen and to have fun while building a lifetime of good skills.

This class is a SPECIAL COUPLES COOKING CLASS.  We will feature 2 cocktails and 4 savory dishes and a sweet finish. 

We offer simple and elegant recipes for two chefs cooking together with the aim of turning the routine daily task of making dinner into a relaxing and romantic bonding experience for two.

These recipes are designed for busy working couples who find themselves with limited time for just about everything – including preparing dinner and for spending quality moments with each other.  PLUS you get to enjoy cocktails too! 

Couples cooking together is always fun and exciting.  This style class has a maximum of 16 guests.  We work in smaller groups of four.  Each couple will be paired with another as they work through the recipes.  Come as a couple or as a group. Learn some new recipes and meet some new people, too!

Some of these sauces may seem unfamiliar; but they are the BASES for many popular sauces.  Mastering these great sauces will take your meat and potato dishes to a new level.

Tonight experience a Tampa blue crab tradition!

Crab is a special treat, not because of the cost but more so because of the effort involved in picking the meat out and the amount of effort required for cooking and preparing the little critters. It can be quite the task to take on, but it is equally rewarding. When eating the crab meat, make sure not to overdo the spices that you use for seasoning as this can easily overwhelm the subtler taste of the crab.

Venture back to when Cuban families from Tampa would go crabbing along the shores of Florida and then have the traditional Tampa treat "jaibas enchiladas."

Chef Tre Wilcox brings his spectacular Top Chef and Iron Chef skills to our Culinary Center for a very special demonstration class of his signature dishes.

Chef Tre was a competitor in Bravo's Top Chef All-Stars and was "Fan Favorite" in his Top Chef Competition during season three.  Additionally, he has been a fierce competitor on Food Network's Iron Chef.
