The instructor was: His being entertaining wasn't the point for me because I didn't come to be entertained. He was an expert in his craft. And he shared that expertise with us.
The atmosphere was: The service provided by the staff was excellent. I didn't expect to be waited on as if I were in a restaurant (filling up water glasses, etc) and it was quite nice.
Complexity of the recipes: I've been a baker for a long time, so the recipes were not complex. And that was fine. I needed a few good and reliable chocolate recipes. And chef Malgieri was constantly teaching good technique and "tips" for success.
The food was: The cakes were out of this world. And that wine you served with them, oh my!
The skills you learned were: Techniques taught were very important to successful baking.
I enjoyed myself and had fun: I wrote tons of notes and can't wait to try my hand at a particular recipe that, until last night, always seemed too daunting to try. Watching and listening to Chef Malgieri has given me courage!
