Complexity of the recipes: They made the recipes easy where before the class I would think they are very, very hard.

The atmosphere was: Generous wine pourings help here; I appreciated that detail. And the wines were better than I would have expected.

Complexity of the recipes: Although the recipes weren't "complex," they showed me that gnocchi is a dish I'm more likely to admire and enjoy at a restaurant as opposed to making at home. I just don't see myself slicing gnocchi from a pastry bag into a kettle of boiling water as part of a casual dinner with friends. I also don't see myself making semifreddo, since it comes a bit too close to candy-making (I don't own either a pastry bag or a candy thermometer).

The food was: The flavors were amazing, given that the ingredient list wasn't particularly long or difficult.
