Benefits of "Buying Local" Buying local helps us appreciate and utilize the flavors and variety of each season in our recipes, menus and classes. Produce that is locally grown can remain on the vine or branch longer, and is therefore fresher and more flavorful. In addition, local products have a reduced impact on the environment because they don’t have to be trucked from California, Florida or Texas.
In addition, buying local helps sustain neighboring farmers, contributing to the success of Lake Geneva's local growers and economy. Each trip to a local farm or market generates more money, profiting these growers and the local economy. We, at the Lake Geneva School of Cooking, are proud to support the following family farms and businesses:
ØRiver Valley Mushroom Farm & Kitchens: Mushrooms & Organic Vegetables, Slades Corner, WI
ØLake Geneva Country Meats: Meats, Sausages, Wine & Produce, Lake Geneva, WI

FARMERS MARKET AND MORE
During our warm-weather months,
Lake Geneva School of Cooking begins our Farmer’s Market & More journey with a mimosa/popover reception at our new location, then we travel with LAKEFRONT SHUTTLE Bus Service to our
Lake Geneva Farmers Market.
We enjoy a bus ride together into downtown Lake Geneva to discover the bountiful selection of locally-grown fruits and vegetables from our local farmers and vendors.
We are committed to purchasing a portion of our fruits and vegetables, meat, and cooking products from local producers dedicated to environmentally-friendly farming, and meet our high quality standards. Cooking with only the finest ingredients creates fabulous food.
* Class includes: Market Shopping, Bus Transportation, Mimosa/Popover reception, Cooking and Luncheon. Please check our class calendar for dates and details.
ØYuppie Hill Poultry: Eggs and Poultry, Burlington, WI
ØPinn-Oak Ridge Farms: Locally Raised Lamb, Delavan, WI
Reminder: Have your knives sharpened at Blade Works while visiting the Market!
