The instructor was: Naomi and Julia were both welcoming and gracious hosts and teachers.

The atmosphere was: It was a really fun environment in which to learn! The tour of the store was helpful as I often go there, but am usually overwhelmed. It was nice to get some familiarity with the products used for Indonesian dishes and how they compare with other Asian ingredients. Naomi's home is lovely and a perfect spot to learn to cook these dishes and then sit down and enjoy them!

Complexity of the recipes: It's good to learn that this type of cooking is accessible even though I haven't attempted it before.

The food was: Yum! I learned that these dishes weren't as hot as I anticipated

The skills you learned were: I learned great options to tone down the heat of the dishes for my family's tastes.

The instructor was: Julia Suparman is a lovely, gracious person, and it was a pleasure and an honor to meet her.

The atmosphere was: It was like an all-day cooking party.

Complexity of the recipes: The recipes are good -- and the way Naomi set thing up was excellent.

The food was: good food -- I wish I'd brought both my daughters along, and I wish my husband had been there to meet Julia and Rudi, and to taste and enjoy the food.

The skills you learned were: I knew a lot of this, but it was great to have everything re-enforced.
