OUR INSTRUCTORS

 

Debra Shapiro  is a free-lance food blogger and cooking teacher with over 10 years of experience in Madison restaurants. She serves as the Pastry Chef for the Eat Smart Guides Dinner Series. 

Francesco Mangano is Executive Chef and Owner of Osteria Papavero, where he focuses on authentic regional foods from the Emilia-Romagna and Toscana regions of Italy.

Gabriel Heck specializes in the cuisine and techniques of Nepalese cooking.  Gabriel studied Nepali cooking while attending a university in Katmandu.

Huma Siddiqui is the author of Jasmine in her Hair, a book about the culture and cuisine of Pakistan, and President of White Jasmine, a spice company based in Mount Horeb.

Joel Olson, of Hemmechef, is a nationally recognized culinary instructor with over 20 years of teaching experience. He brings his unique flair to teaching, using his sense of humor and passion for cooking to inspire his students.

Keith Lepinski is a staff member at Orange Tree Imports and Cooking School Manager

Scott Lutz is a self taught home baker, tempting the taste buds of family and friends for over 30 years. Scott enjoys the process of baking with simple ingredients.

Paul Tseng grew up in Taipei, Taiwan enjoying the local food cultures throughout Southeast Asia and mainland China. After moving to the US and formally studying western cuisines and working for many restaurants, hotels and caterers, Paul is delighted to be teaching and sharing the joy of cooking with the greater Madison community. 
 
Pierre Ferland received his training as a pâtissier in Quebec City, Canada, at the renowned Château Frontenac. His 30-plus years of experience span all phases of the baking industry. Pierre has a particular interest in creating and reinterpreting classic French pastries.
 
Sharon Long, the Serious Cook, was taught to cook by her Grandmothers. One set of her grandparents owned a premier restaurant in Boston’s Chinatown, Joy Yong. She takes culinary travel and brings back recipes and authentic cuisine to her classes. Sharon is also a staff member at Orange Tree Imports.
 
Susan Chwae is a culinary travel expert for the family-owned travel publishing company Gingko Press and the award-winning Eat Smart Culinary Guidebook Series. She is also a member of the Orange Tree Imports staff.
 
Tom Wolowik is a Fishmonger at Madison's Seafood Center for 15 years, he currently works at Bistro 101 in Mt. Horeb. Tom is now concentrating on Teaching cooking classes and catering small groups.
